“Keep it to Myself”, as the first track on Whiskey Kiss’ new album Retro.Revamped. signals their departure from a more traditional rockabilly band into a straight-up roots rock & roll outfit. The driving guitar grabs the listener right away, and pulls us into a story of want (backed by a full rhythm section complimented by saxophone) and choosing to do the right thing. The sexy desire of the lyrics next to the rocking arrangement creates a great contrast with the theme of the song, which is to keep your infatuations to yourself when the one you want has another.
